I’m Lu, founder of Lu Treks, photographer, writer, business owner, and world traveler. I’m thrilled that you stopped by to check out the launch of Lu Treks!
What you’ll see here at Lu Treks, are the beginnings of my travel articles providing quick reads on ways for easy planning, budget travel and product suggestions. I have hundreds of valuable articles in the works which will be posted in the next few weeks. I’m also designing my newsletter which will be released soon. My social media sites are also in development. I’m making this site public prior to completion to welcome constructive feedback from our readers, subscribers, and contributors. I’m building this site so it serves you, my readers and fellow travelers, best!
Lu Treks is also a collaborative web portal for people to share thoughts, experiences, and more, from all walks of life, cultures all over the world, of all ages, wanting to experience and share new adventures, and travel, transforming dreams into realities, savoring in the blessings of life’s most beautiful moments, inspiring others to reach far and wide, to experience the richness that life offers.
A bit about me, (if you’re so inclined) I was a tiny baby. My dad nicknamed me “Little Bit”, which morphed into “Lulu”, then “Lu” — now, a family nickname. I grew up in Maine, several decades of my life, which formed the basis of my values and perception of people, animals and the world at large. I’ll save those details for a separate post. Fast forward, I earned my MBA from Peppperdine University, Project Management Professional and Scrum Master certifications, in addition to multiple software certs. I’ve enjoyed decades of the corporate rat race, mostly doned in elegant office attire and pumps. I’ve managed half-billion dollar fixed income portfolios of bonds and CD’s, and have been managing multiple multi-million dollar e-commerce projects for companies like Thomson Reuters, AAA, Macys, and Walmart.com, as a Senior Program and Project Director and Manager —Â for both global companies and Silicon Valley start-ups. I’m grateful for my rich experience, also compensated handsomely, (albeit living in an area where small condos start around $1MM).
I’ve had my fill of the corporate RR, navigating politics, succumbing to the high-tech requirements of offering up my life in exchange for the comp, benefits and hope of rising up the illusory ladder. I’m proud of my career; however, with maturity and life-changing losses — friends dying far too soon, I’m ready to embark on the career of my dreams, a highly creative venue I’ve truly been wired for all along! I’m single, never married, no kids.. (most say I’m lucky I dodged divorce). I’m a daughter (of course), sister, an aunt and great aunt several times over thanks to my siblings!
I look forward to sharing with you many more exciting adventures, travel tips and hacks to save money, and exciting travel products that make your travels easier and more fun.
Warmly,
Laura Brown M.B.A., P.M.P., C.S.M., S.M.A.C.
